500 Mile Report
500 Mile Report
I have 500 miles on my FX4 scab and absolutely love it. I do not have any drivetrain vibration, rear end shudder, or steering wheel nibble or vibration. I do have the bed shake, but I can not feel it in the cab so I can live with it. If you stand in the corner of the bed and bounce up and down, after you stop bouncing the bed will quiver for a few seconds, it is only when you hit a stiff bump will you notice it. I believe it has something to do with the shock rebound or dampning. Other than this I have no problems at all and actually look forward to waking up in the morning to go to work just to hop in this awesome truck.
I have had the truck 2 weeks and I got a LINE-X sprayed in, windows tinted, husky liner floor mats and have installed a Cornfed Suspension 2" spacer kit to help out with the nose down look. I just could not get used to the look. I had a local 4x4 shop install it for $175 plus $50 for an alignment. I talked to him about the cv boots and he said he has installed these types of kits on Toyota's and said I should have nothing to worry about as long as nothing punctures the boot. This guy has been lifting trucks for years and made me feel pretty good about it. I won't be doing any serious off-roading so I should not be putting them in much more of a bind. Time will tell. When I install my Carriage Works 6-piece billet grill and bumper insert, I will post some pics.
