Calif. Emissions?

Anyone know what "Calif. Emissions" adds to the new F-150's? I have an order for a Lariat 5.4 V8 and it has "calif. Emissions" listed on the order confirmation. I was wondering if that added all kinds of extra emissions junk to the vehicle?...anyone know? Sap power from the engine? I don't live anywhere near California by the way, so I don't need it. Just trying to figure out if it's a big deal to leave it on the order or not. I like all the power I can get and I'm afraid calif emissions may suck power from the engine and add stuff I just don't need on my truck. Anyone have the scoop?

Thanks!

A reliable source at the dealership told me all the F-150's are the same. They all qualify for 'calif. emissions' - even if it's not on the order confirmation.

This is the answer I got:

California emissions does not add any additional equipment to the
vehicle, it does not affect the performance in any way. It merely
states that this vehicle has been tested and calibrated to make sure it's within the tolerances set by CARB. Actually, all new Fords have the same basic emissions equipment. Federal standards let us test a random group of trucks at the beginning of the model year, and if those pass, then all vehicles like that are assumed to be the same, and no more testing is required. California says EVERY vehicle has to be individually tested and calibrated.
