Question Polished at factory?

What type of protectant does Ford use before it ships its vehicles..or does it? I noticed after some recent rains it beaded up pretty good.I plan on giving my F150 the Zaino treatment as soon as I receive it in the mail.

My 2003 came with no coating and or the dealer took it off. My Truck was deliverd cleaned and washed. When I got home I washed it with Maguiars car wash then put on weekly coats of liquid glass car polish with high speed orbital buffer. Then every 6 months or so I reapply the Liquid Glass

I believe Zaino recommend washing the vehicle with plain ol' Dawn dishwashing detergent first as it will strip any kind of pre-applied coating from the surface, which is then supposed to make the Zaino products work more effectively.

Cheers.

That was probably a wax job from the make ready dept of your dealer. I worked in two different Ford dealer bodyshops, and knew the make ready guys well. They often used a butter type wax, to make the vehicles shine for the pick up.,,,,98
