1/2 Daystar Installed 1 5/8" lift

I just removed both strut assemblies for adding the Daystar top only spacer. My Ford dealer said they would compress the springs tomorrow(Monday) for me so I can add the longer bolts. It was easier than I expected. From the time I started jacking the truck up to when I lifted the second strut assembly out was exactly 1 hour. If anybody has any ?'s feel free to ask, because I know I was wondering about a few things before I decided to do this lift.
Monday
Just got her back together and back from a test drive. It looks like I got a lift of about 1 5/8", just what I wanted.

I can't get the link to work.

Do you plan on going to larger tires or just want to level out the truck?

No, I don't plan on bigger tires. I just didn't like the truck sitting that low in the front. I did however want the back to sit a little higher than the front. Right now the back is 10" and the front is 8 1/4". Where as before the front was 6 1/2". It really makes you feel higher while driving also, you would'nt think 1.5" - 1.75" would make that much difference but it does. Now I just need to sell the bottom halves.

Question

IF I MAY ASK, WHAT IS THE REASON YOU WENT WITH ONLY HALF THE KIT? I WILL BE DOING THIS TO MY TRUCK TOO AND AM TRYING TO DECIDE TO GO WITH EITHER THE WHOLE KIT OR JUST HALF. WHATS THE PROS AND CONS OF BOTH IF YA KNOW? THANKS, MOOSE

The reasons I did not use the full kit are: The higher you lift the front the more you compress the cv boots, thus the more compressed the faster they will wear and crack . Also I did not want a completely level look, When I haul something it gives me a little room to play with to allow the back to squat and become level. I also am not planning on using bigger tires, so I didn't like the way the full 2.5" made the front wheel well look so empty. I got pretty close to 1.75" of lift with the top spacer. The pros would be a level stance and room for bigger tires.

Thats what I wanted to with my Lariat. It looks great! I have a few questions. Where did you buy the Daystar and how much? Can you rent spring compressors from auto parts stores?

thats interesting!

Cool - I also want to raise the front of my truck but all the pics I've seen on Daystar trucks appear that the front is a little too high. It almost looks higher in some view angles which looked worse to me. I did not know you could install only a partial kit can you explain a little more about this? It sounds right down my alley as I do not plan to change tires or rims either. Thanks!

Also - did it affect the ride any?

The best place to buy the kit is off of ebay, I paid $105 + 8 shipping. I could not find spring compressors big enough to fit the 3/4" wire diameter of these springs. Most, if not all, compressors only fit up to 5/8" wire diameter. I tried to really see if I could tell any ride difference, but did not notice any, which everybody else has said. You can install either half of the Daystar kit. I will sell you the bottom halves cheap. You will probably only get 3/4" to 1" lift, which might be all that somebody wants.
