They have been unavailable since I ordered my truck at the end of December. The cast aluminum wheels are about the only choice in the 17" wheel. Maybe it's Ford's ploy to get their customers to upgrade to the 18" option???

Exclamation are they in fact offering chrome now?

I would prefer a chrome wheel over the cast painted and the polished. Spraying degreaser on them and the tire and pressure washing them off is so much easier. That was one thing I didn't like was no chrome wheel availability.

It's funny how personal the wheel choices get. My XLT 4x4 had the polished aluminum 17" wheels when I first looked at it. The salesman said "is this the truck you were looking for?" It sure was, except for the wheels. I had them put on a set of the standard silver coated 17s in their place. He thought I was nuts. I replied that I just don't like shiny wheels. Crazy world, eh?

I've got the polished aluminum 17"s on my XLT and they are a bitch to keep the front ones clean. Other than that, I LOVE the way they look. Does anyone know WHY they don't sell them anymore????

there are chrome ones now.

They show chrome 17" wheels inplace of the polished in the book now and in online window stickers, etc. I have not actually seen a set yet. I prefer these wheels because I think they are easier to clean, plus shiny . I wonder how much heavier they are than aluminum ones and if it will really be noticeable in the ride. I am spoiled on the good ride of these trucks. The truck I have picked out to replace the one they are taking back is supposed to have the chrome ones.
