hooked up my trailer yesterday
I had been waiting for the weather to break to do some cleaning so I hooked up my Go Kart trailer to my FX4 Scab for the first time,7'x14'and7'high enclosed. Let me just say that this truck is AWSOME!!,I could'nt tell it was back there,very stable going down the rd.,and the braking was 3 times better than my 2000 Z71 excab 4x4,I'm serious,I had to really bare down on them to stop,but not with the ford,they actually seemed better with the trailer hooked up,the only thing I had to do was put a 6" drop on reciever. I also pulled it in overdrive where it would pull my chevy to death. Throttle response was great going up the rd. and as you can probally can tell I am very pleased.

I pulled a 5000lb trailer with my truck abd could hardly tell it was there either. It had electric brakes so it was truly a pleasurable ride. My truck suprised me with its fuel economy while towing also!

WE HAD JUST PUT THE LICENSE PLATES ON OUR 2 WEEK OLD TRUCK, TO GO PICK UP OUR 24 FT TRAVEL TRAILER AND UPON RETURNING HOME THE TRAILER DID SOME FISHTAILING AND ABOUT 3RD TIME GOING DOWN SLIGHT INCLINE ON INTERSTATE WE LOST CONTROL AND DID A 180. OUR TRAILER WAS TOTALLED BUT WHEN WE STOPPED VERY GRACEFULLY, WE WERE HEADED SOUTH IN THE NORTH BOUND LANES AND OUR NEW TRUCK WAS UNTOUCHED AND SO WERE WE. ACCORDING TO THE FORD BODY SHOP MANAGER AND 2 TECHS, THE RECIEVER AND SUSPENSION ON THIS NEW 2004 TRUCK SAVED US. WE ARE VERY THANKFUL TO FORD FOR THIS VERY WELL BUILT AND SAFE TRUCK.

I'M NOT SURE WHAT A WEIGHT DISTRIBUTING HITCH IS AND WE WERE NOT USING SWAY BARS. WE HAVE A RECEIVER WHICH IS ADJUSTABLE WITH 2 DIFFEREENT SIZE ***** AND ADJUST FOR HEIGHTH ALSO. WE WERE ONLY GOING 100 MILES ALSO. AND WE ARE VERY THANKFUL FOR BEING SAFE ALSO.
