K&N Air Filter Same As 97-03?
K&N Air Filter Same As 97-03?
I have a 2000 F150 with a K&N air filter.
I am ordering a 2004 F150 FX4 (5.4 Liter of course) on Monday.
Can I use my K&N on the new truck?
I'm only asking because I transferred my K&N from my 1997 F150 4.2 V6 to my 2000 F150 4.6 V8 and was hoping they used the same one on the 2004 5.4.
Thanks,
Jake

Yep, why not?
It's a cleanable, reusable filter, so I cleaned it and reoiled it and put it back in service.
As a matter of fact I've been using it now since 1996 and it's got probably 75,000 miles on it.

I had a 01 f-150 supercab with the 4.2, put a k&n in that, then bought my 04 f150 supercab with the 4.6, and like a dummy forgot to take it out!
Uses the same filter.
So, after my current paper filter runs its course, will have to spend another 50 bucks.
