cracked leather on seat w/ pics
Does anyone else have this problem. I think it is from sliding out of the truck. Its only on the left side of the driver's side seat and I don't have (or really want) running boards. Would this be covered under the warrantee since I only have about 11,000 miles on my truck? If so what do you think they would do and how can I keep this from getting worse? Thanks for the help.

Yikes! I don't know if they'd do anything about it under warranty, but I'd sure ask them about it. That seat looks like it's 5 years old. I wouldn't think a couple month old seat would look like that.
This seems to be a common problem with people who slide over the left seat bolster when exiting the truck. I dont think that they will cover it under warrenty. But you never know. My dads LSC Lincoln had the same thing and at 19,000 miles they would not replace it. So the only thing you can do is to lift yourself UP AND OVER the bolster each time you enter the truck. NEVER allow your butt to drag across the bolster. It will get much worse if you dont change your entry/exit habits.
Worried about mine, looks like it might go the same way, and I have 2,000 miles on the truck. Hoping for the best, argue for warranty repair!

Well, I slide my blue-jeaned butt over the bolster every time I get in and out, yet mine doesn't look like that. Mine gets dirty, but I've got no cracking. Moreover, leather is some pretty tough stuff, it should be able to withstand many years of sliding without a lot of deterioration.
However, leather is a natural material, and will vary considerably from source to source. This is probably nothing more than a lower-quality piece of skin.
And I'll tell ya, if mine ever gets like that, I sure won't be inclined to take NO for an answer from the dealer regarding replacement.

Thanks for the info guys. I talk to the dealer next time I take it in for an oil change (as well as the rear window rattle, fender flare screws coming off, air recirulating switch going off, and whatever else I can think of) at let everyone know what they say.
