Exclamation Question for IzInBloOm

Hey...are you able to look up order status info with just the order info? Before you get a VIN I mean. If you had my dealer code, order number, etc...can you find the status that way? My salesman is great in person, but he's VERY hard to get in touch with and so I can't get my question answered. I want to know if I got 'serialized' this past Thusday and what the status is overall. If you can do this and are willing, I can email the info to you. Thanks..I appreciate it.

naw man....I'm not connected to taking orders, or shipping the units, or even building them. I'm a development engineer that just happens to have access to the VIN system. So the only thing you can give me is a VIN.

No problem...thanks I don't have a VIN yet...and that leads to my next question. Since it's difficult to get a quick answer from my salesman, I'd like to make sure I understand the process so I can tell if they're giving me a line of BS when they DO contact me with order status info.
Can someone please confirm that the allocation process DOES happen on Wed or
Thurs? I'm still trying to get in touch with my salesman...he said in an
email Friday that the order was 'pulled' and submitted to the plant for
production. I sent a reply within 10 minutes asking him to tell me if that
meant it had a VIN now. No reply so far. Tell me if I'm wrong...but it's
my understanding that when the order is submitted, it enters Ford's system
and when Wed or Thurs rolls around, they go through the allocation process
and if that dealer is allocated this type of truck order this go round, it
WILL be 'serialized' and assigned a VIN, then sent to the plant for
scheduling. This doesn't mean it will be built right away, but I think does
mean that the allocation process is done and there's no problem with the
dealer having an allocation issue...so now it's up to Ford to find a time to
actually build the truck. Is that correct? I'd really like to know because
if I check the VOPC on my own next weekend and find that it's STILL saying
it's not serialized, I know the dealer is giving me some BS if they tell me
the order is good and is in the production process. I found this
description of the order/build process on the web. If you can confirm this
is accurate, I'd deeply apprerciate it! Thanks again...

Is this correct??? -
Receipt Date: Date Ford gets the order from the dealer
Serialize Date: Date Ford transfer to plant and assigns VIN number
Segment Date: The date that MP&L determines which week the order will be
built
Sequence Date: The date that MP&L determines which day the order will be
built
Blend Date: The date that MP&L determines when the order will be built
within the assigned day
Produced Date: Obvious
Gate Release Date: Obvious
Ship Date: Leaves Factory
Arrival Date: Arrives at dealer
Sold Date: Obvious

By the way...since you're a development engineer...do you use IDEAS software?...any PLM software at all...Teamcenter? I work for a company that supplies that software to Ford (we're a software company). We have an office at Ford's Dearborn (Allen Park) facility. At least, I 'think' it's on Ford's property. I haven't been there myself. We have other offices in Livonia, Ann Arbor, Troy and Grand Rapids.
