I have to say that I have owned a '98 since November of '97, and I have the infamous "door cracks". But you know what? I never noticed them until THIS YEAR when I was on here catching all the info about the new 2004's. I had to go outside and LOOK for those tiny, little cracks. And I am very careful about my truck, I keep it in tip top shape. I just don't see what the big deal with the "door cracks" is all about. Maybe in another 10 or 12 years I'd start to see some actually visible rust or cracking, I mean, seriously...

The only problem that I HATED about my '97 was the SuperCab window streaks. Now THOSE were very visible, now matter how often you washed 'n waxed. They just couldn't drain rain water properly. You can always tell a '97 from other years if it's a SuperCab, 'cause it's got the dual rainwater streaks.

Not to get off topic here, but I would NOT be afraid to buy a 2004. If there is some major thing you don't like, do what I did when I traded my '97 in for a '98. Just trade your '04 in for an '05. No big deal.

My apologies for briefly going off-topic.
