3.55 or 3.73??

Im in kind of a bind here, ive got it down to what to order for my 04. except the axle ratio, i plan on upgrading the tires right away, and my question is, will 3.55's do a well enuf to push 295's? and a trailer once in awhile, because i want to explore all my options, so i know i did the right thing. Thanks for all your help, and also im purchasing today, so the quicker the better thanks!

This is perhaps not much of an answer, but I've not see anybody complain about the 3.73 and wish they had the 3.55.

Even though I don't tow much I went with the 3.73.

The '04 is a heavy truck. Doesn't hurt to have a little help out back getting it moving.

I have tiny little 255/70-16s that are 30.5" tall and 3.73 LS . . . . I can see myself wanting 4.10s if I went with anything over 32" tall but no way would I ever consider 3.55s

I have the FX4 with 18's so I didn't have to decide, it comes with the 3.73 LS. If I would have had to decide I most definately would have gotten the 3.73 LS. It's not a 4X4 without limited slip, the way I see it. If you get 3.55 you may wish you had 3.73, but if you have 3.73 you probably won't wish for 3.55's.

The 3.55 is ok with smaller tires (255 or less), but if you want 295s you will need to go with the 3.73. It's a no brainer.
