I know what the "list" on the K&N web site says. I know the 2004 5.4 is not listed. But I requested notification for new products on the 5.4 only. And the email from K&N that I received says this version is ready for the 2004 5.4. Past that, we'll all just have to check with K&N and/or our local rep.

I got the same email GordoPanocho. Technically the Heritage 5.4 is a 2004 5.4, but it is not the 3v 5.4 that we all have in our trucks. they do not have a filter available yet for our trucks. sorry man.

Is it typical for a new model vehicle to have to wait this long for K&N? This is the highest selling vehicle in the US.

Im afraid so, Im not taking up for them, but it does take some time to release a new product with everything they have to do to make sure it will last and be safe and get all the lawyers happy. Be patient, if Ford builds it, they will make it.

I get those updates every couple of days, but the one I just got is different than the others. They usually say exc. new body style 3V under comments, but now it says ALL.

Until recently, our automated notification system only recognized the year, make, model and engine size and did not distinguish different styles within the same model (i.e. the Heritage vs. 3v) which is why we had to specify more information in the description. While "fixing" it, we had technical difficulties, which caused an e-mail to be sent out with incomplete information. We apologize for that.
When you visit the site now, you'll see "Filter in development for new body style 3v" in the comments section under F150. The "all" comment for the E-0945 is actually for all Heritage models, excluding the new body style and is so listed.
We are currently working on a filter for the 3v but do not have a date when it will be available. You'll get updates via e-mail for products that become available for the 2004/Ford/F-150 Supercrew/5.4L whether for the Heritage or for the 3v, etc.

I checked K&N's website and it still says "Filter in development for new body style 3v" when you look up the 2004 F-150 5.4L. I think Sylin Concepts is either jumping the gun or they "know" that the filter is going to be released in the next few weeks. I have no idea, but I wouldn't order it.
