FX4 wheels on lariat

Hey guys I need some opinions good or bad on this.

I am considering putting a set of FX4 wheels on my red/beige lariat.
I will be painting the insert part of the wheels arizona beige to match my lower twotone on my truck (as I did on my 02 fx4lariat)

I think the wheels on the lariat looks like somthing that would attract more of my grandparents than me and I really like the way the FX4 wheels look.

But do you think it would look to "model confusing" ?
Any input appreciated.

The arrows in the picture show where it will be painted beige.

I don't think it would look that bad. Do what you like it's your truck.

That was one of the reasons I chose the FX4 over the Lariat, was the 18" FX4 wheels. I like the way the inside is grey also, as compared to last years wheel. It would make your Lariat look better!

With the different trim, etc that is on each model, it's kinda nice to be able to mix and match.
I have an XLT grille on an FX4, I put on back in October, and my extra set of wheels for winter are also XLT standard. As I had an extra set of 17" tires for winter, I got the XLT wheels for them and use the 18" with the Goodyears for summer.

Thanks for the replys, I think I will be adding the painted insert FX4 wheels on my lariat to make it look a little tougher and different.

Who cares about model confusion. Do what you like and what you think looks best.

Lariat 18" Wheels

04 RED LARIAT,

I have an 04 XLT Screw and looking to replace the stock wheels with the Lariat 18" wheels. What did you do with your wheels and tires? If you still have them, would you be interested in selling them? Please e-mail me.

Did you end up getting the Fx4 wheels? I too have a lariat but I think the 18" Fx4 wheels are much better looking. Does anyone know if there is any difference in the quality or weight between the lariat and Fx4 wheels?

Its prolly too late, but I'd just go with nice aftermarket wheels. If you wish to do anything, why not paint the lariat wheels?! Someone else on the board did this and it added a nice touch.

I think that would look great. As a matter of fact im looking for a set of 18" FX4 tires and wheels for my XLT. I have done that to a custom set of wheels i had one time and it looked great. Time consuming, but worth the work!

I might give the family truck (Lariat 4x2) the FX4 wheels once I lift the FX4. Our maybe some nice 22's...

thats a great idea and alot of owners end up with aftermarket wheels and tires but the FX4 are sharp.
