this evening after the superbowl i was kinda in a good mood since the patriots won and i bet 5 free car washes they would. so i was driving home i look to my left and it is no other then a brand new off the dealership ram 1500 with a hemi. he rolled his window down looking at me i rolled mine down(thinkin of comercial of ram 1500 & 04 f150) i asked if he had a hemi. He kept on revin his engine at me and when the light turned green off we went. he was descent at the start but it just got nasty i had at least 15 feet on him as we went down the road before i had to turn to drop my g/f off. he honked by me passin me by and waved his hand. what a great sport. i just thought i should share my ford pride.

 

Im glad to hear that. After all the hype on the "hemi" engine being so much faster than the Ford it makes me feel good to know maybe our trucks arent as slow as everyone else thinks. I also had a chevy pull up beside me at a red light. The lane that he was in ran out a short distance down the road, but he still had to pull in behind me. I dont know what engine he had, but it wasnt quicker off the line.

 

Hey, tell us about your truck. I assume you have the 5.4L, but is it 4x4? Screw? I'm just curious because I have an FX4 SCrew.

Mines feeling better and better everyday, I had a girl in a stock new style civic try me. At the light I could see she wanted over into my lane in order to get into the turn lane. She was inching up and lookin to jump the light. Me being the Jerk that I am and not liking the way she was inching close to my truck.

When the light turned green she spun a little and so did I. At about mid way though 2nd gear she gave up and got behind me.
I had her by about a car or so.

 

Yeah, there's nothing sluggish about my truck at all...I must have gotten one of the fast ones...I can go 0-80 in a quite a hurry...The takeoff isn't as strong but once it's starts moving it is gone...Those complaining about the speed just need to mash the gas a little harder...

not changing the subject but I kinda did something like that once.
I was sitting at the stop light in my 2001 screw had a lady and her son pullup next to me in one of those avalanche things
and I couldn't resist I rolled my window down and the boy about 9 or so rolled his down. I said change for a dollar and the boy was laughing and ythe mom rolled up the window and went thru a red light. oops laughed my *** off!!!

If the Dodge was just off the lot with a motor yet broken in, the driver was an idiot.

Regardless, I fail to understand how a similarily equipped Dodge with the 5.7L would lose in a drag race to and F-150 with the 5.4L. Even Car & Driver tested the Dodge at about a second quicker in both the 0-60 and quarter mile times. but, congrats for the win, but I would not expect them all to end that way.

 

I have an 04 f150 extended cab fx4.i understand that in real life my truck probably isnt faster but still he was probably just a horrible driver. pride is what got me going. insecurity is what got his dodge going.
