Behind the backseat connected using a flexible 'spinning' shaft that opens and closes it similar to a 'corkscrew'.

I wonder if something associated with this motor and drive assy is doing all the rattling. I've climed in the back while my gf drove around town, looking like a crazy pressing against the rear glass trying to isolate that rattle. I can't really modify the rattle by exercising the glass.

I want to remove that rear seat and look back there.

I took it in to the dealer for this, but all they did was replace the rear glass unit which had no effect whatever on the rattle.

I'm thinking my rattle is coming from behind the seat.

The motor for the rear glass could be bouncing off the back of the cab.

I had the same problem with my FX4 Screw I was able to fix it by taking a rag covered in leather conditioner and passing it between the window seal and the body of the truck. Its been three months and the squeak has not returned.

Good tip Mr. Wizard.

My dealer put some type of lubricant between the body and the rubber seal and I haven't had any probelms since.

I work at a ford dealer as a technician. They are distributed to us through our shop foreman. The tsb I referred to installs a piece of extra trim to the frame. I'm not real sure if there is a place online where you could print the tsb. I would recommend calling your dealer and ask them to look up that tsb. If the service dept wont maybe your sales person can help.
