I like that solid black! I have the solid black FX4 Super Crew, 18" wheels, with a baby seat in the back. I was wondering how the ride and handling would be affected, sounds like no change at all.

 

LOADING.

If and when you load your rear, they truck levels equal front and rear (a 500-lb load on the bed is enough).

If you have your front and rear at equal height without load, you have less steering control after the truck's bed is loaded as the front will tend to rise.

 

dgdee, yep I installed it myself. It took me about three hours with no help whatsoever (friends flaked out). Anyways, all I needed was a socket set, coil compressor, floor jack, and a big hammer. Definitely worth the time and effort!

 

The better question is, "Why does the rear sit so high?" and the answer is to accomodate the load carrying abilities of your truck so that you have a flatter stance when loaded. You basically have two options, raise the front or lower the rear. Option one requires the Daystar spacers and option two would require a longer drop shackle (I think Ground Force has them for your truck). The drop shackle would be around $80 and is an easier install, but you must decide if you want the front higher or the rear lower.
