Dealer installed bug guard question

My dealer siad they'd throw in a bed liner, mud flaps/splash guards (molded ones) and a bug guard. How does the bug guard install on the hood? I'm wondering if I'll have trouble removing it if I don't like it. It's not screwed in is it? Any adhesive on the paint (above the hood)? I don't want any adhesive on the paint on my hood if it's visible once the bug guard is removed.

Anyone know about this?

My '99 screwed into the underside of the hood in existing holes. There were two rubber spacers (one on the left and one on the right) to keep the bugshield from rubbing against the hood and scratching the paint...I am sure some of these guys with '04's will tell you if anything has changed.

If it is the one Ford sells you will need to loose 6 bolts (I think it may be 8) on the back side of the grille. Then remove the two phillips head screws on the outer edges of the guard. Remove the sheild, tighten bolts and gently slide the remaining two clips off the outer edges of the hood, peal the protective (clear) film off the hood and firmly shut the hood.

One thing I would not take is the bed liner, unless it is a spray in. The plastic inserts do nothing but rub off the paint and cause rust.

I agree about the bed liner. I don't plan on keeping it installed for more than 1 year. I will remove it and get a sprayed-in liner after that. It should be ok for that short period.
