Question Build Date/Delivery

I ordered my '04 FX4 scab on 12/08/2003. I spoke with the delaer today and he gave me a scheduled build date of 02/02/2004 as well as a VIN number.

What should I expect for a delivery date? The dealer is in the Boston, MA area. He wouldn't give me any solid dates, just I'll call you when it arrives by rail and is being transfered to truck transport. I guess he didn't want to box himself in.

Any thoughts would be deeply appreciated. By the way, what is VOCP? Who are they and how do you contact them?

THANK YOU!

Mine shipped on 12/9 and I picked it up on 12/20, which was extremely fast considering I live in CA. My dealer called the rail yard and told them to drive it to the lot the day it arrived, which probably explains why it arrived so quickly. Barber Ford in Ventura is the **** BTW

The dealer can get an ETA once the truck is loaded on a rail car. He can also track where your truck is by the rail car number. You're right, he probably doesn't want to commit to a date because unless he has a good relationship with the folks at the rail yard (like my dealer) it's difficult to know when it will get delivered to the delaership. Plan on anywhere up to 3 weeks barring any unsforseen circumstances.

My build date was 12/16/2003 and it arrived at the dealership on 12/27/2003. I'm Columbus OH, so it was shipped via convoy.

Hope this helps.
