Hold up?

I ordered a 4X4 Lariat screw on October 31st, 2003. I was told 6-8 weeks delivery time. As of today, no truck. I am being told by my salesman that the truck is being held up due to the 18" wheels and chrome tubular running boards that I ordered on the truck. Does this excuse make sense to any of you guys? I'm supposed to hear from the sales manager tomorrow, so I'll see what he has to say, I guess. Sorry for the rant.

Regards
Mark

Unhappy don't feel bad

melie: I ordered mine 10-2 not being made until next week dealer said. But I had to cancel chrome tube running boards
because they were backordered and I didn't want to wait anymore. They are suppose to send me the running boards when they catch up. Don't mean to depress you but good luck!

Good Luck, Sheryl

hey mark,

If you have the VIN, call the VOPC (you can find their number if you do a search on VOPC), they can tell you exactly what is going on. I spoke to a nice lady the other day, and she was quite helpful.

I know it does not help, but my Lariat Screw was ordered on 1.4.04, and is scheduled for build 1.26. They do not know of any holdups right now... I did get the platform running boards. My truck is coming to NH...

IF you do not have the VIN, call the dealer, and ask them to fax (send) you the order Order Receipt Acknowledgement Form (that is close to the right name, help me out here), it will have the dealer number and all needed information to call the VOPC.

Hope that helps...
Don

Tell them to ship it like it is and you'll worry about that later. I told my dealer to do that and he said it wasn't possible. I told him to cancel my order, and all of a sudden, he remember a way he could do it. You don't have to be a harda$$, but COME ON!!! I had mine in 3 1/2 weeks. They tried to hold it up for the black tubular running boards. I told them to forget it and went aftermarket. Saved money and they look better. As far as the wheels go, tell them to put some 17" wheels on it and then trade them for some on the lot when it arrives. There's more than one way to skin this cat! You're the customer.

i believe don04 is thinking of the DORA, Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgement. close enough though. they should have the DORA by now. they get it once the order is in.

did you get a good deal on thr truck?

I am wondering if your truck came in and they sold it to someone who was paying more. Then re-ordered your truck.

Wink as far as mine goes?

I don't think they sold mine out from under me? I call the dealer every day 450 miles away and they know me by voice. Pretty scary but now i am getting a little short tempered. So I am hopeing they want rid of me and want the truck to be here as bad as I do. LOL

someday?
