Cool tonneau covers ?

Is there a "BEST" tonneau cover as far as design and strength? Has anyone bought one through FORD? thanks Guys.

I like Extang Classic's. I have had them on every truck I have ever owned including this one. Never had a problem so I see no need to experiment with others.

Dad likes sportmasters but I dont like there snaps.

Is your inquiry directed to both soft & hard tonneaus or just soft (e.g., reference to strength would imply no interest in hard)?

If there was an answer to your question then you wouldn't need to ask as there would only be one brand on the market.

There are several 'tonneau' threads on the '04 Forum (type tonneau in SEARCH function) that discuss the pros/cons of about 6-8 hard tonneau brands. Generally, it boils down to whether you prefer the looks of a FLAT lid (e.g. *******'s, SnugLid, LoRider) or a CONTOURED one (e.g. Leer, A.R.E.). Price, quality, and features, including photos, are also in the threads. Since the decision involves about US$700-1200, it deserves some research.

Personally, I prefer a painted-to-match flat cover with premium quality, fit, finish and features...for me that is SnugLid. The A.R.E. I initially ordered fit poorly and arrived with numerous paint defects...I rejected it. Fortunately, the dealer refunded my $200 deposit, but usually you're stuck with your choice. Be careful in your selection.
