locking doors while still running

I just figured out how to lock my doors while the truck is running. You can not use the power lock button because when you close the door the drivers door automatically unlocks, the door key pad does the same. All you have to do is push down the drivers door lock button close the door and it will not unlock, when you return to the truck just punch your code into the keypad.

you mean you cant just push the 7/8...and...9/0 button at the same time with the door closed and truck running to lock the doors?

Thats the way all my previous fords with keypads were anyway.

Yeah, that still works. I do it every morning.

I have command start, so in the morning I leave it locked while its running. If I am going around town doing errands or things of that nature I hit the starter button before I turn off the truck, it stays on and I then use my keypad to lock the doors.

Just hit lock on the key fob after you open the door.

I think is great that the doors won't stay locked with the engine off and the key in the ignition...for those who don't have keypads... but I was so used to doing this with my Explorer Sport, that it was a tough habit to break when I got my F150. But, thanks to you guys I can do it again!!
