Is this true about 5,000 miles

The drip catcher worked great for me. I always unscrew the filter just enough to let it drain and wait for the dripping to stop before removing the filter completely.

Between the drip catcher and the easy access to the filter from the front, this is the easiest oil change vehicle I've ever owned.

I have unlimited oil changes for life on my truck with the dealer and they told me every 3k. I called and confirmed with my sales rep and he confirmed 3k. I am going to call the service dept and verify with them as well.

With the 6 quart sump in an F-150 5,000 miles is no problem, and 4,000 is easily expected, but, if you drive short trips where the engine does not get up to operating temp then you can expect the oil to be worn out within 3,500 miles. I've seen where oil life monitor lights go on in 3,300 mile in vehicles driven mostly short distances in winter.

I am still waiting to see an oil analysis on 5w-20 beyond 5,000 miles, but those at 5k look real good.

That's right, 7 quarts. All the better with two extra quarts to extend the oil's life.
