Anyone know when Job 1 for the '05 model year starts?

My Eddie Bauer Expy lease is up in May. Thinkin' I'll buy the Expy then trade it in on an '05 King Ranch (my residual is less than retail on the Expy).

(I am trying to force myself to wait until the King Ranch is released this fall).

Anyone know how soon one can order the next year's trucks? July/August possibly?

Thx

I was told Ford has a June shut down. I think it's only 2 or 3 weeks. I could be wrong.

The company has not told the union when our July shutdown will be for sure. They have until April to decide. It will either be the last week in June and the first week in July or the first 2 weeks in July. Job 1 will be shortly after that. Since there are not any major changes, I would imagine the first or second week we get back.

Screwbuilder,

What changes are they planning for 2005 F150...if any? Have you heard anything about a bump up in HP?

I haven't heard anything yet, but a guy I know is on the launch team and they are sending him to Detroit for 2 weeks. I will know more when he gets back.

When your friend gets back, would you kindly ask if there is any chance of getting the 6.5 foot bed on the SCrew in the near future? I would be willing to wait if it's going to happen , if not then I'll have to go with the F250.

From Ford's Dealer News Bulletin (DNB 0401) dated 1-9-2004:

Norfolk - 2004 Model Year Balance Out 8-16-2004, 2005 Model Year Job 1 8-23-2004.

Kansas City - 2004 MY Balance Out 9-3-2004, 2005 MY Job 1 9-7-2004.

Dearborn - 2004 MY Balance Out 9-17-2004, 2005 MY Job 1 9-20-2004.

I have not seen a specific date for 2004 MY Job 1 at the new Dearborn Truck Assembly Plant.

No, there are no plans for a longer bed anytime soon. If you need a bigger bed buy a 250.
