No they can not be swapped. I've been wanting to do a swap on my standard cab STX for several weeks now. Unfortunately, finally after about 6 weeks I found out that the instrument cluster from a FX4 would not work in my truck.

I've got a complete service manual on CD from Ford that lists all of the instrument clusters and shows the wiring diagrams. I took copies of each of the diagrams to my local Ford service manager for evaluation.

He finally contacted an engineer at the Ford truck division finding out that some of the function may work while others may not.
