Is the Screw Back Seat Leather?

I'm looking to purchase a Lariat SCrew and was wondering if anyone could confirm if the back seat is genuine Naugahide or a hide from an actual animal. All the Ford literature refers specifically to the front seats having leather seating surfaces. I'm guessing the back seat is vinyl, but it looks pretty good.

S-crew rear seat leather?

I believe the rear seat in the S-crew does have some leather. Small patches where your **** and back contact. There is a thread on this subject a month or two back do a search and this will come up. Maybe on the Lariat and not the FX4, I dont remember.

S-cab rear seat is not leather.

Correct, only the center sections of the seat/back are leather. The rest is a vinyl product.

It's leather in 2 spots, on an FX4 it's the patterned portion of the seat that's leather (center bottom and center back). I must say that vinyl has come a long long way and this vinyl is top notch. It feels great, very leather like, and is very durable as well. I have 2 labs and a 4 yr old boy that romp around in the backseat and no nail or action figure punctures yet

You can tell the difference between the Screw vinyl and leather by the smell. You can smell vinyl inside the truck. It doesn't smell like a leather coat like the interior of a nice Mercedes. It's really soft and looks great though. Most people probably wouldn't notice the difference unless they spend a lot of time in a full leather interior.

check the dealer literature. I was talkin gwith my salesman after I bought my truck and actually informed him my FX4 leather seats were only leather in the front, so we did a little research in his books and found the answers. I cant remember exactly how it was worded but the Lariat SCREW does have leather rear seats.

Honestly...I dont care mine are not leather in the back. Like t has been said here, they all look and feel the same to me. And there actually better ..IMO.. that the full leather seats in my 02 mustang GT.

The last 2 american made vehicles I have purchased with leather seats are no different than my '04 Lariat. The seating surfaces basically the center sections top and bottom are leather, the bolsters and sides are vinyl.
My BMW M3 has leather seats, not just the seating surfaces. The leather bolsters on the sport seats start to show wear much faster than the ones in my TransAm which are vinyl on the bolsters and leather on the seating surfaces.
The door panels in my BMW are "leather trimmed". Basically the center sections are leather, the rest is pleather but it is hard to tell the difference.
I vote for durability/comfort mix of the "trimmed" leather seats since I use mine as a truck almost as often as a car.
