loaded or not loaded??
Is it necessary to buy a loaded 2004 F-150 with leather,4x4,audiophile,etc. etc.? is there an advantage to buying a truck like that even if you probably dont need most of the options? would a single man need all those bells and whistles??

I bought an 04 F150 Screw XLT 4X4 .
I opted for the 40 20 40 cloth seats Very comfortable and better for my back , the regular single cd system cranks, the only thing I paid extra for was the tow pack and 5.4 triton engine........oh and sliding rear.....
I love it and saved a few bucks too
The only advantage I can think of is like sport said,,, resale value. But to me that is not a very good reason to not buy it the way you need it. Look at the options and decide what you need the truck to do, and what you like just for ammenities sake.
In reality, you only need a truck to get you from point A to point B, and to haul what you need.
Did I need audiophile, not really,, but it rocks which increases my enjoyment. Did I need an FX4, probably not,, but I like the way they look.
Actually,,, this is my first vehicle with most of the "bells and whistles" Prior to my '04 F150 I had a '93 Silverado with a V6 and manual windows. Very basic. The only thing I really spent any extra money on was the captains chairs. I liked the truck and it was a good purchase for me at the time.
Bottom line - it's your money,,,, get it the way you want. Keep good care of it and it should sell just fine when you need it to.

I agree with ronrpk as far as buy what you want. If you want it loaded then by all means load her up. It will be a nice truck regardless how loaded it is.
Something I should have added to my last post about helping with resale value is though it may help you to get more money when you sale it or trade it in, you most likly will not get back all the extra money you spend for the added items...

The interior is basicly a steering wheel and one pedal
(I told them I didn't need no steekin brake)
I got one **** on the dash. I don't know if it's Lights or Wipers cause I don't drive when it's raining or dark so whatever it is, it's a steekin useless option.
I don't have power windows and I don't have no steekin crank windows. What have I got? I'll tell you what I got. I got a brick in my pocket that's what I got.
Radio? You got to be kiddin me, I sing like a bird!
Heatin and air conditioning you wonder? Nope!
Oh but what about my poor passengers....
Well I got the OverHead message center see,
but it only says one thing....
SHUDDUP !!!
Forget resale value. You can't make money buying $1,000 options in the hopes your truck will get an extra $500 when you sell it.
Get the options you want and like, then enjoy them the whole time you own your truck. Spend your money on what you will enjoy over the years, not on what will increase "resale value". Whatever extra resale you get is just iceing on the cake.
If you want a loaded truck, and can afford it, I'm sure you deserve it. If getting one with fewer options lets you afford a new F-150 instead of a lesser truck, smart move.
I kept my Ranger so long that resale value was really a moot point. The way this F-150 has impressed me the last two months, I may keep it even longer.

Order one and buy only the options YOU want. Don't worry about resale value or anything like that. If it's what you want, you won't be re-selling it anytime soon anyway. It's your money and a lot of it. I know people like to tow, but that didn't make me spend an extra grand for the tow package that "might" get me a few more dollars in 10 years. I also got the rear defroster. Almost everyone got some sort of rear slider, so it must be popular. But I hate scraping the windows and I got the moon roof. So what do I need another 12" x 12" hole in my back window for?
You're probably right. I was just thinking that the tow package is an option that puts the truck into a different class, kind of like 4x4. It's not a bell or whistle type add on. It adds functionality to the vehicle. In the end, it won't pay for itself when you sell your truck. But who knows, somebody may buy your truck specifically because it has a tow package.
In the end picking the options you want is the best choice.

ehh who cares get it all. You'll love it.. Im sure whatever you get it will be right for you, which is most important. For me , I like it all so thats what I got. I dont think abut resale at all, if I like it, I get it, Good luck.
