silly newb question

after bying my awsome baby last friday, my buddy was so impressed he went out and bought a new truck also. he, however, likes baby trucks - so he bought an 04 Ranger FX4 lvl II. its ok i guess. the v6 is nice, the tires are sweet. thats about it - no comparison otherwise to my FX4 150 but my question is this:

the owners manual on my FX4 150 specifically gives break in instructions (no 4x4 for 500, no towing for 1k etc.) but his gives nothing like that. when he asked hte dealer today, the dealer told him "there is no breakin on your truck, drive it however. 4x4 or tow, city or highway, its fine."

is there something "special" about the 5.4 3v (other than its obvioously under-estimated, underrated, and detuned (since it will be an 05 mustang motor option)

and as a side note -
does anybody know where to get "real" information on the truck. i mean stats not spewed by marketing but like the 5.4 3v variable timing works like "this".....or the off road shocks are tuned "this way" or at the rear wheels you really have "this" (insert dodge's outrageous flywheel numbers and ****ty transmition statistics here)

i con'd the dealer out of a pretty neat CD wit hlots of video clips of the 150 tied hitch to hitch to the compitition and doing pull offs and tug of war and spiff whiz bang computer animation on the 3v but its all feel good fluff (it'd give ya a stiffy if you didnt know it was directed for sales purposes hehe) (got titus and the motor trend guy doing all kind of reviews and demos. the suspension piece about moving hte shocks outbound of the springs is really neat)

i would jsut like some "real" info on my treuck. it is so sweet and i cant spend enough time driving - even ford customer service couldnt completely decode my vin? (dont think i had hte most "knoledgable" person on the phone though)

anyway, anyone know some answers about the break in thing or where to get real info?

thanks

The manual states no towing for the first 500 mi. and vary your speed for the first 1000 mi. Hope that helps.

Talking tech info!!

i did happen to find one link that is semi relevent. its not exactly "f150" specific but it talks about the "new" motor and some of the otehr new technologies (they just happen to be applied to the 05 stang GT) (saw an interview about Shelby and there will be a GT500 with his name with the 5.4 3v supercharged to 500hp supposedly in 06- if it fits there, it'll fit in a new lightning/or my FX4 hehe)

anyway, the link is:

but still, any answers to the above post or more techno weenie stuff or sites would be great.

later

CC - I've been scouting on 3V 5.4 tech articles.

So far, nil.

If I find anything I will post here, for sure.

You'll do the same, yes?
