CD Problem

Has anyone had a problem with the CD player?

I have a 6 disc audiophile system. No matter what slot I load a disc, I get the same message when it tries to play: "CD ERROR".

Forget the hassle and take it back top the dealer. It should still be under the initial warranty.

Have you tried another CD? Maybe it cannot read that one for some reason.

Does this occur with ALL CD's? Are you trying the homemade type? Some disc's won't work.

If it occurs with regular CD's, I'd definately take it in.

This isn't meant as a smarta$$ comment - make sure the label side is up when you insert the CD. I have a CD player in my house that takes CD's label-side down.

I'm sure there is a good reason why it was designed that way. I just don't know what it is. I'm used to it, but my wife doesn't play CD's very often so she sticks them in label side up. Needless to say, they don't play that way.

i sure would hope that any ford factory stereo, let alone the audiophile, would play recorded discs. i will have to try this out to make sure though..... still got to hear an audiophile stereo option on the new 150....but i need to wait til funds are dispersed before i order / buy my truck....

The Audiophile 6 disc will play recorded cd's just fine.

I use Roxio and burn @ 8x. Haven't had one reject yet.

My '98 Dodge Ram factory CD player would not play them at all.

The player would tick off time, but no sound came out.

I had error on my 6 disc changer that read "Bad Disc" while the #1 disc was playing and it ejected the disc on its own. So I tried playing #2 and the same thing happened. #'s 3,4 & 5 did the same but when I selected 6 it played. So I reloaded the other 5 and they played and have had no problems since then. This happened about a week ago.
