I have my whole dash apart. Tested every wire in the harness and none of them are switched. What wire is every one including the sound shops telling me to hook my auto on from the amp to? I am about to loss it!!! This is the last thing to hook up and I can't find any switched wire to put it with.
Any help would be appreciated.

dupius, I don't know which wire, but you could add a simple switch and tie to 12V always and put your truck together until you find the correct wire. then just update it then.

just don't forget to turn off that switch

or remember, that the radio wire has a delay that allows the radio to play after the ignition is turned off.

put a voltmeter on the red or orange heavier wires (power leads to radio) and see which one goes to 0 Volt when you turn off ignition and then open your door.

Hi. Not sure if you got this answered, but i will take a stab since you are tight for time.

1. If you are wiring in an aftermarket stereo, there is a blue wire coming out of the back of the deck. That is the remote turn on wire.

2. If you do not have a blue wire, and it is aftermarket, it is either the yellow or red. One is constant, and one is switched. I cannot remember off the top of my head which is which.

3. Make sure that you are using this wire for the switch input on the amp, and not the power connector. From an aftermarket deck, 5 amps is the max pull that it will support before blowing a fuse. There needs to be another wire for contsant power that the amp uses to run off.

4. Also, the norm for decks is purple, grey, green and white are the + and - pairs for speakers to go to each location.. ie front door left, rear door left. It is not always that on the factory deck, but this may help.

I hope this helps somewhat. Your other option is to tie into a switched fuse connection in the accessory box. I do not have my F150 yet, so I cannot point you to where it is, but so long as it is switched, that is a start. Problem is, if you turn off the radio, the amp will still run, and you will get a pop.

Thanks guys. I am keeping the stock radio. Rambunctious you hit it on the nail. "DUH" I can not believe I forgot about that delay. I will try again checking the wires, turning the radio off and opening the door. Thanks, I'll let you know if that works.

I FOUND THE WIRE!!!!!. That was a good waste of about 2 hours trying to find it. Now I have humming noises and poping when I turn it off and on, but thats a battle for another night. Thanks for all the help.
