04 back seat space

I have a 02 F150 extended cab now and I am looking at getting a new truck. The back seat on the older style is a bit cramped for a adult, kids ok. I would like a SuperCrew, but want a 6.5' box min. always seem to hauling something. So my options are to go to a Super Duty Crew Cab. In your guys and gals opinions what do you think of the back seat in the new F150's? Big enough for a adult or do I go to a Super Duty?

Thanks KLH

Sounds like you answered your own question. F-150 S-Crew only comes with the 5'-5" box. The back seats are adequate for adults. However, there's more room in the back seat of a Super Duty, plus the option of a 6'-5" or 8' box. Check 'em both out for sure.

Your other option is the Supercab with the 6 1/2' bed. That is what I ordered. The new supercab has more room than the old style. My 6' brother can sit back there and not complain. (Well it was only a test drive) Also my daughter's car seat fits back there and I didn't need to bump up to the Supercrew. I like the looks of the supercab better anyway! Good luck whatever you decide!

I too was impressed with the amount of room in the back seat of the 04 Supercab. If I were going to get an 04, I would seriously consider the Supercab over the Supercrew, as I seem to need the bedspace more often than I need the back seat space.

There is a decent amount of room in the backseat. I'm 6'2" and you have to move the front seat pretty far up to prevent my knees from hitting the seat, but if you can deal with your knees resting against the front seat, it's ok. Also, the seat is a lot better with the back angle increased and the headrest.

But, if you're going to have multiple kids in the backseat for a lot of your driving, I'd lean towards the SuperCrew and get the bed extender or some good tie-downs and leave the tailgate open if needed.

I'm 6'2" and there's no where near enough room in the Xtra cab to be usable. MAYBE for short trips to lunch, and only if the driver moves up 4-5 inches to allow someone to squeeze in behind and sit there for a short trip.

I had a '99 Xtra cab and we could squeeze people. Granted, the new one is bigger, but i thoroughy tested it. If you carry adults off and on, forget it.

I can give up the extra foot of the bed and I re-hab houses for a living. I went with the SuperCrew. My Dad is 6'6" and 260 lbs. With me driving, he can sit behind me with a couple inches of leg and head room.

Just my opinion....

Ford advertises that the new supercab is 6" longer than the previous generations. Dont know if that is helpful or not though.

I chose a supercrew because a 5'7" bed is fine for my uses.
