Question Custom floor shifter?

Have any of you with the flow through console considered a billet shifter? I really love my interior, but one of my pet peeves is the chinsy material that the shifter is made from. It has got to be hollow and made from some sort of plastic.

Have any of you disassebled the console and seen the shifter in pieces? I would love to look into a billet piece to replace this thing if they were available. Heck, Ive even considered having one made, but since I havent done the disassembly yet, I dont know how complex of a chore this would be.

Any thoughts?

Go ahead and tear yours apart and let us know. I don't think it's that bad.

I do kinda wish it had a more solid feel to it.. but I think they look great. I'm not complaining at all, but I did notice the hollow feel when I hopped in mine for the first time.

My shifter looks and feels fine to me.
I would not think about changing it
unless it broke.

I would definitely consider changing mine...or at least the top portion of it....to something with a more sporty or refined look.

I'd like to find a replacement just for the top of the shifter as well. I was thinking a nice leather cap would be great. Haven't been able to find a replacement for it, but I did succeed in breaking mine while trying to remove it. Now it flops around
