Daytime Running Lights
Daytime Running Lights
I have an XLT and was reading through the manual last night.
The Auto Lamps seem easy enough, but I was a bit unclear on how to activate the DL's.
The truck is in the garage and I'm at work now, can anyone briefly explain how these work and if it's something you can just leave on at all times and still have the Auto Lamps turned on?
Thanks

If you are referring to "daytime running lights" that stay on when your are driving around in daylight. One of the dealers in my area show that as an"option" that can be ordered when the truck is made. However, I have not seen it in any of Ford's sales literature, nor have I seen it on any trucks. I get the impression there is neither no charge for it or possibly as much as $40?
Here is how it shows up on their order lists:
942: DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS
So I guess it is something you can get?
Good Luck

Not an option
at least not originally.
DLRs are required in Canada and by many big fleet buyers so Ford builds the capability into the harness and then for US sales "dumbs it down" by not providing the key circuitry in the installed harness (parts are left out).
You can buy the parts for about $ 60 and do a simple install.
