Next F250 Based on New F150 Bodystyle
Next F250 Based on New F150 Bodystyle
I predict that the next F250 will be based on the 2004 F150 body / frame.
This is how they could introduce the 6.5' bed on the Supercrew.
The F250 is too much like the F350 to survive on it's own.
F250s were being bought by people that did not like the previous F150 design or wanted diesel.
I think payload rating and badging are the only differences with the current F250 / F350.
Not sure what I think will happen as far as diesel goes.

Umm, the F-250 and F-350 are different in the payload/towing/frame/some axle variations, but yes - you are correct that the interior/body are the same components.
Hence why they are both tagged the "SuperDuty".
I don't believe that Ford will ever make an F-250 body-style that is different from the F-350 body style, just as I doubt that Dodge would make the 2500 and 3500 look extremely different from each other, same with Chevy/GMC.
The F-250 and 350 are primarily bought by fleets, not just people who wanted diesel. Also they are bought by people who need the greater towing/payload capacity.

I suspect it will look
I'm not so sure about most of this. If we recall, the F250 was actually offered in the F150 bodystyle in 1997 when the pn96 came out.
The current truck does have the specs to accomadate Supercrew/6.5ftbox. The already offered Supercab/8ftbox would still be longer (by 1foot) and heavier.
The body does not have enough space to encase the V10 that the F250 would need.
One thing is for sure, that the next gen Super-duty trucks will do the F-truck name proud.

Those 1997's and such also had those funky-*** 7-lug wheels... Never did understand wtf Ford was thinking with that decision.
