Thumbs up Just passed 5000 miles...

Well the odometer just rolled past 5000 miles today 12/16/03. I picked up my truck on 10/03/03 and since then I cannot quit driving it. It has not been to the dealer yet as I changed the oil myself at 3000. I will take it in at 6000 for the first time.

When I take it in I am only going to report two problems. The first is the temperature sensor mis-reading and the 2nd is the shudder in the rearend when cold and accelerating from a stop while turning.... Both of these problems are well know on this forum.

I still think this is the best truck/vehicle I have ever owned. Not much else can be said, this truck rocks!!!!

Hey FL, please clarify for me as I must have missed this:

Are you saying that the shudder (I have it to) is due to the tranny filter missing, or some other cause?

Thanks

That is crazy I picked mine up on 10-03-03 and hit the 5000 mile mark at the same time. Only thing I've noticed that maybe a problem is a shimmy when braking (felt in the steering wheel) and the infamous shudder in the rear while taking off. I had three f-150s from 97 to 01 models and this thing blows them away, no comparison.

When I picked up my new truck it would shudder when accelearting around a corner (like turning from a stop sign). Wnet to dealer and had them drive it. Sure enough, no filter in transmission.
