headrests

I need to remove my headrests to put on some seat covers for duck hunting but I can't get them to release past their highest position...can anyone help? I know they should come off but I don't want to force them. Thanks.

Sorry, I don't know the answer, but I was curious what you found for seat covers for the 04' F-150, I'd like to get some to make the dog hair issue less of an issue.

Thanks

Look at where the headrest post(s) go into the seat. On that plastic retainer there should be a release lever of some sort, either to push in or pull out while at the same time you pull up on the headrest. I'm not looking at mine right now, it is too far away from me and my martini, but others I've seen are like this.

havent looked at the headrest on the 04 but some carmakers dont use the little lever anymore see if there is a small pinhole in the plastic base and use a small punch or small allen key and press it in while slightly pulling up on the head reast you may need to do this to both posts ...
