Anybody got Goodyear Wrangler F1's?

My last two trucks I've had shod with 20" wheels, but I cheaped out on the tires, getting the Goodyear Eagle LS (Same tires as on the Dodge Ram 20's) finding them at Discount Tire for $140.00 each, rather than the $289.00 each at your local Goodyear store. They weren't what I wanted- but they have provem themselves better on wet roads than my previous Goodyear Eagle GT-II's could ever hope to have been.

Anyhoo, while having a slow leak patched the other day, I priced a set of Goodyear Wrangler F-1's (Love the tread: looks like water displacement would be no problem). A true truck tire, available in 20" diameter for when I put my 20's on the new Expy.

295/50/20's were (Drum roll please) $526.00 per tire!!!
Over $2,100 for tires alone- not counting the $$ for the wheels.

I haven't had time to check Discount tire yet, but was curious if any of you guys were rolling F1's, and if so- what you paid for them.

Yep, I got them and love them. Awesome tire! My only complaint (besides the price) is that I worry they might be a bit soft. This is only a problem when it comes to wear. I'm not too sure of how long the tires will last, but at 15,000 on them so far they might end up lasting longer than I expected. They are looking great and have ALOT of tread left on them. They just felt very soft to the touch when they were new. Once you get past the 1/32 or 2/32 of tread they seem to be a bit harder, thus extending the life of the tire to more than I originally expected. Back to your question, I think I paid just over $1,000 for them, but that was for a stock replacement size 285/60/17. Of course I could have gotten away paying around $400 for a set of the LS or GTII but like you, I wanted for more. Also, I have always been a Goodyear fan (despite the bad most people have to say about them). But, just think of it this way, when I was picking up my Wrangler F1's, there was a guy there with a Tahoe getting new 22" wheels and F1's installed his ride. I believe the Goodyear counter person said he paid over $2,800 for his tires alone!!! Good luck with your decision, if you go with the F1's you wont regret it, except maybe when you look at your checkbook. Oh, one more thing, if you want my 2 cents, go w/ the Toyo Proxies for your 20's instead of the F1's (this coming from a avid Goodyear believer). Oh, and second more thing, what ever happened to the 20's from your 2000 X sport??

What's up Alan?!

Well, my mother in law: (60) decided she wanted to buy my Expedition when I traded it. I went and negotiated with them so she didn't get messed over. She even got the Extended Ford Warranty and is paying half of what I was paying per month!! Made me wish I'd just refinanced!!!

Anyhoo, I'd taken my wheels off and was gonna sell the old one's on my wife's SuperCrew to a friend. I put the factory tires back on it. After she bought it, she liked it, but wanted it to look like it did when I had it. I had already put my wheels on the SuperCrew (See new photos in my gallery). So, I gave her the Centerline 20's, so now she's bling-blinging like everybody else up this way!

After X-mas and before my baby arrives, I'll lace the '03 X-Box up with some 20's or 22's.... I hadn't forgot about your wanting to buy by Vanguards- there was just a change in plans on my end!

Take care!

yeah, it's a lot of money but think of how great they will look! Besides, how much did you spend to have a nice looking truck to begin with?

It's like wearing a $3000 Hugo Boss suit and then wearing $5 shoes from Wal-Mart.

Think of it in these terms, how much are the replacement tires and then work out the "upgrade cost" and decide if that cost is worth the great look these tires will give you.
