Just purchased a new 04 Screw...... really wanted the Audiophile, but found a rig with everything save the RSS and the Audiophile. My goal is to emulate as much as possible the Audiophile system, as well as incorporate the XM satellite setup. The information in several other posts has helped considerably, including nailing down the correct wiring harness to upgrade and add the tweeters in the door and the sub-woofer I believe. Other than not being able to get the RBDS and DSP, are the door speakers the same (with the exception of the sub not being in the standard Lariat pkg), and with the wiring harness, how close can I get to creating my own Audiophile lite?

The non-audiophile system only has four speakers, just like it says above.

Read the posts guy.

Okay, I've got a question.
I don't have the audiophile, but I do have the 6-disc changer.

I am looking to get better sound. Anyone just try replacing the speakers or did it require replacing the whole head unit.

Thanks...

The audiophile system is OK compared to most stock systems. I chose to pass on this system because it just did not have the power I was looking for. I am in the process of upgrading my system but I plan on keeping my stock 6 CD HU. I am installing Rockford Fosgate HPC-2257's all the way around, Kicker Comp VR 10" Sub in a Probox enclosure, and power them with a Autotek SX5750 5 channel amp. Can't wait to get it cranking.

Please post your results once you've got that system running!
I have the same basic plans but no money to invest in it yet!!!

I'm just wondering how well the amp will take in the stock line level outputs.

Also, where'd you get the TX flag Ford Logo???

Thanks!

I know several other guys have done similar and said they have had good results. I will post when it is complete, hopefully this weekend.

As far as the Texas Logo I purchased it over the internet at AutoTrim Design. Here is the link to there website.

Make sure you click on the catalog at the top of the home page then type in FORD at the bottom of the page in the search. This should bring up all the decals they make for the Fords. If you decide to get this make sure you order the correct size. Hope this helps.

I have had the Eclipse AVN 2454 on order for a month of Sundays, and have yet to receive it. I decided to go ahead and install (have installed) the speakers and amp that I had in my Exploder, before I traded it in. I put MB Quart Q series 5 1/4" components in the front doors, some Kicker 5x7 coaxials in the rear door (I never sit in the back), and quantity 4 of JL Audio 6 1/2" subs. The subs and the amp, a JL Audio 500/5, 5 channel amp, sit under the back seat, but just barely. They were unable to port the sub enclosure, as I was hoping. I have nice equipment, and running through the stepdowns required to connect the amp to the factory head unit has muddied (?) up the signal sufficient to make a gang of distortion, and thereby give me less than extravagant performance. I am looking forward to having the aftermarket head unit put in, which will, among other things, increase the voltage output to the amplifier with little signal degredation regarless of the volume level. It will sound a ton better. The output of the subs is substantial, so it is an option for those looking for a different setup than the plastic box.

Also, the audiophile is bad ***, but just wondering why ford did not go with a name brand? I know chevy has Bose, Dodge has Infinity, and the POS Titan has Rockford Fosgate. I have not heard the Titans so Im not sure how it sounds. I did notice though that the titans cab echos inside. Probably for acustics.
Audiophile IS a name brand and has been in the high end audio game for a while.

Does anyone have any specs on the factory tweeters that mount in the front doors on 2004-2005 F150's with the Audiophile system? I'm working toward matching the factory Audiophile installation and the tweeters are the only thing that is still a bit of a mystery. How are these wired, is there some sort of cross-over, or are the leads just paralleled with the door speakers?

I have an Autotek 5750 5 channel amp that I was going to use, but never got around to putting it in my truck. I have the same amp in my honda civic pushing an Autotek 5.25" component set up front, Autotek 6x9s in the rear, and driving on Autotek MX 12" sub in a ported custom fiberglass enclosure. The power that amp puts out is amazing and the sound quality is so clear.
I would suggest going with a custom setup.
