VIN check method??

Guys,

I've read the F.A.Q. and at the risk of beating a dead horse,
how does one go about checking the status of an ordered vehicle
using the VIN number? Is it through a web site or an 800 number, etc.? I ordered a Lariat screw on Oct 31st and I think I am getting the smoke and mirrors routine from my dealer. I was originally told to expect to get it around Xmas time. Now they're saying mid January.
[the truck was paid for when I ordered it so no incentive to hurry I guess] Any info would help.

Thanks

Mark

First, the only way I know (and I am no expert) to check the VIN is to post a "VIN check" request on this board. Then hopefully one of the kind souls that have access to this info at Ford can check it for you and report back.

Regarding your order...

Ouch! Any particular reason you paid 100% up front? I only put down $500, and I was able to lock in the trade-in value of my 99 lightning when we closed the deal. I am still driving the lightning, racking up as many miles as possible and watching the trade in value go down... all the while I continue to make payments on it... while I really want my truck to come in (Ordered on 9/5), every day that goes by saves me money.

The car I traded belonged to my wife.[and yes she is happy with this deal] A 2002 BMW 325CI converible, that we just were not using. I didn't need the car and the dealer had someone hot to buy it, so I let it go.
