I have an 04' that I bought a week ago. I really won't be driving it much until this spring.

I have the standard 3.55 gears without limited slip.

I'm wondering if anybody without limited slip gears is also having the problem?

It was 1 degree yesterday here in rural Missouri and my truck who had the shudder before had it really pronounced today. Called the dealer and asked about the clutch packs and he said yes they do have a new clutch pack and an anti foaming agent they are adding to the rear ends. He said they have done a lot of explorers but this would be the first f150. Said I would be without my truck for 3 days. Told him I would wait, not ready to drive a loaner car (tarus) for 3 days.

Mine is still in the shop I hope to get it back today. I have a Focus
they gave me to drive. I live in Wisconsin and yeterday it was -5
when they drove the truck. The dealer states that they drained the rearend and filled it with fluid and are adding a additive to the rear end to see if this prevents it form shuddering. I advised him of the new clutch packs that are out andf he is aware of it,
but stated that this is the first step, and that Ford advised him that this was going to be the way the deal with this problem.

I told him that was unacceptable and that I wanted the new clutch pack installed. He stated that he was just being honest and that if there was a problem with it happening again they would then be able to put the new clutch pack in, but has to go by what Ford rules. I will keep you advised as to whether
or not and how long it takes to get this solved.

I'm not really too technical on this piece of a truck.

Do these clutches exist in a non-LS rear-end?

Well I got the truck back yesterday and the dealership did not fix either problem I took it in for. The first was the shuudering in the rear end. The second is the blower fan is still sqeauling. I talked to the service manager and advised him I will bring the truck back in on Monday the 12th. The service manger advised that he will order the updated clutch pack and a new fan today, and have it ready for install on my truck Monday. I will keep you posted how everything works after the updated clutch pack is installed.
For those that have had this done has there been any trouble
since?

Thanks Go Pack!!!!!!!!!!!!
