Any 2004 Heritage STX owners here?

Just bought this truck and was wondering if it (4.2L V-6, 5 spd with class III towing package) will tow 5,000 to 5,500 lbs?

Want to tow my 2003 Mach 1 (3500 lbs) on the 1800 lbs trailer to MCA shows.

Will it do it? Dealer says no problem, owners manual is confusing.

What rear end gear do you have? My old' 97 V6 truck was rated at 3500 pds with a 3.08 rear gear. I think you would be ok as long as you take it easy on the clutch. It is the weak link in the V6 5-speed trucks.

Thumbs up Truck towing

Yes. I had a 1999 F150 extended cab with a V6 and pulled an F250 on a 20' trailer about 200 miles with very little problems. Up and down hills were a little slow, but over all I could go about 60-65 mph on road.
