Angry What the frig with my rig?

Why is it that when I bought a brand new Nissan Pathfinder for my wife in August, I didn't have to take it back for one single problem? However, with my new F-150 "The best truck ever built," I have already had it back for body damage and a blown power seat fuse? And I have three more things for them to look at on Monday.

1. Steering wheel rubbing/vibration
2. Clicking noise when first applying the brakes
3. Apparent leak above front passenger side door

I love my truck. But I love it less and less as each day passes with a new problem. I'm beginning to get p'd because I spent considerably more money on a truck that keeps breaking, than I would have if I bought an '03 Sierra. And I waited a hell of a long time for it too.

I know it will get fixed for free, but the inconvenience and embarassment of telling people my truck is getting fixed, is wearing thin.

The steering wheel issue can probably be solved by a re-balance/realignment.

The click with the initial brake press is probably the lock disengaging so you can shift out of park. If you don't press the brake, you can't shift anywhere. I think it's normal operation.

Probably a seal for the leak.

Considering the 04 150 is a complete redesign, I think it is normal to expect a few problems. Anyone who has bought a first production year of a redesign of any vehicle will have more little probs than will be likely after that design has had three or four years to work out the probs.

FWIW my 150 is nearly perfect. In fact, after 7k miles, it is as trouble-free as anything I've ever owned. And yes, I've owned a few Nissans, including two pickups, and neither of them was perfect, even though the design was many years old.

These machines are incredibly complex. Allow for a few glitches. In time, you'll get rid of the glitches, which in any case are minor.

When I said initial, I meant every time I press it. Whether it be shifting from park or going from gas to brake. It clicks when I first start to press it.

I've determined that every time it clicks, the brake lights come on. So it must be the switch to trigger the lights. I've just never noticed a click before when I press the pedal. Does anyone else's click?

Guigster: Sorry to hear of your troubles/frustrations. Luckily they are pretty minor. At least you didnt have to have an engine replaced like Beastboy.

How loud is the click? Is it louder with the window down? A caliper could be sticking a little bit, and it is making the clicking sound when it releases and contacts the rotor fully.

This and the other problems should be quickly resolved. Hope nothing more major comes your way.
