Ok I think I have talked myself out of putting my amp behind the rear seat. The biggest reason is that I can't get the damn back off. I think I am going to mount it under the rear seat on the hump.

Pros: Easier Install, Can get to it whenever I want, ventilation, and easier to route wires.

Cons: Takes away from room under the seat (what would I put under there anyway) and not 100% hidden

Any thoughts???

With it behind the seat you would not be able to do gain adjustments, and not be able to see the protection over load lights on the amp without removeing the seat again. Sounds like it would be a pain in the a**. Just put it as far back as you can. Unless someone looks under there, It won't be that visable with the hump sitting it up closer to the bottom of the seat.

I found the pdf file to be of marginal benefit. Check out my gallery for pictures of the seat removed, the clips, notch, etc. I also show pics of my amps installed. I haven't put the sound deadening liner back in yet, but it will be notched out to leave the amps exposed. Without the liner and seat installed, man is it loud in the cab!!

Also, to facilitate easy seat removal, I taped the tabs open with electricians tape. Now to remove the seat, all I have to do is remove the center seat belt upper housing and the seat lifts out. I don't really see the seat clips being that important.

Hope this helps.
