Speakers in 04s with Audiophile

I know there has been several radio / CD / aux connection discussions – briefly scanned some of these but did not find the answer to the question I have…. Does anyone know for sure whether the speakers in the doors are different than the standard ones if the truck was ordered with the optional Audiophile system?

Thanks, Screwdrive

I swear I read somewhere they were Boston Acoustics speakers and there were 8 of them. (not including the sub)

I can't find the link I found earlier with all the specs. If I remember correctly I think the amp was 90 watts.

There has been some favorable reviews even from "stereo guys"

I haven't heard one in person, but I figured it was worth the option just to have the speakers placed for me already even if I do take everything out and make it better.

BUT I have it figured out that I am going to order it and I will probably love it.

Do a search on the forum for "audiophile" and I'm sure you'll find all you need to make a decision.

I have the Audiophile system in my truck. My problem is that the speaker(s) in the rt ft door are toast and I want to make sure the dealer orders the correct replacements.

Thanks, Screwdrive

Thats funny you say that ScrewDrive, my front right ones seem to be blown too. (or have a rattle in them, whatever that means) I have kinda heard it for a while but it has been more previlent lately. Only on front right speakers though.

Will the dealer replace this for free?

Thanks!

36/36 bumper to bumper except maintenance items.... speakers are not maintance items. Sounds like the same situation - thought I was hearing things at first but it got worse and now there is no question the speaker(s) in the rt ft door are history. I just want to make sure the replacements are correct if indeed the Audiophile includes upgraded speakers.

I thought that my right front speaker was blown too. I took the grill off and took all the screws out. I put it back in the door and tightened everything up and now it sounds great. I think that the speaker was just rumbling the door trim.

Had a problem with my audiophile sub not sounding good either...sounded like it was blown or just couldn't handle the music....I took it out remounted and tightened everything and now its great!
