Sub woofers?

I did my searches... and didn't find anything that really seemed to apply.

I have the extend cab (or supercab whatever) Fx4.. and I have the CD player with cassette... so I'm wanting to get a little better sound out of it... doesn't need to blow my glass out or shake the neighborhood but I plan on upgrading all my speakers and adding a sub...

has anyone installed a sub under the back seat of an extended cab? I notice there isn't much room for a box.. and I know that certain subs need a certain amount of volumn in a box to work well...
what are some subs that can work with little volume? what are my other options?

thanks

Check at your local car audio dealer. They might be able to get you a custom box of the right dimensions to fit under the seat. Also, I believe JL audio makes some good 10" subs that require very little interior volume boxes. (I think the model is a W-6)

Another option (which you might have already considered) is to keep your eye open for a totaled '04 with the Audiophile.

That way you pick up the sub, the amp and the box all ready to plug and play.

Has any one tried doing this? Is the wiring there to just mount the Ford sub and plug and play?

You could check and see if the wire harness for the box is there.

I checked mine for the location and the wire harness comes out right under the pivot for the drivers side rear seat.

My guess would be that they're all wired for thats just a guess.
