XLT vs FX4?

I am getting ready to order a truck, and (like a few others I've seen on here) am going back and forth between the XLT and the FX4. I may be leaning towards the FX4, but I need to know about the ride. (I put about 100 miles a day on my vehicle so its important to me) I know its the off-road trim of the F150, so is it a more bone-jarring ride than the XLT? I test drove the XLT and LOVED the ride. Havent been in the FX4 yet. I intend to, but thought I would still ask peoples' opinions. How similar do they feel on the road?

Thanks!

Having driven both (but, buying the XLT). I don't think "bone-jarring" is an apt description of the FX4 ride. The FX4's shock tuning is slightly tighter, but I doubt that you would find it intrusive. Both rigs have a supreme, quiet ride.

I say go with the Fx4. The rides are pretty much the same. But the interior of the Fx4 is MUCH better looking than the XLT. IMO of course.

I drove both of them and therer is no real difference in the ride..but ya sit higher in the FX4. I ended up with the XLT as I really couldn't justify the FX4 for a daily commuter vehicle, but if money was no option i'd definitly be driving the FX4. Awesome rig.

4x4 is an option in the Lariat, so it is indeed available. I have not seen one without it (with pardons to my southern comrades), so I would assume the gas mileage between the FX4 and Lariat 4x4s would be very similar. I dont have any reason to suspect one weighs more than the other, so it is not going to be that apparant on mileage

Hope that helps

I like the interior better on the fx4,than the lariet with 2wd but dont need 4wd. I could live with it but what kinda mileage does a 4wd truck get is why i was asking. Both trucks are nice. THANKS I drive an Expedition now that gets 11.8 mpg in city after 18.000 miles ...I just like the new design on the f150 a lot better now, wanting that new car smell again

With my 4x4 Lariat, I average about 14-15 City and getting around 18-18.5 on the Highway. Sorry to not mention that fact before!!!
