Window Tint Laws (Link)

I stumbled upon this while doing a search. Might be useful to some. My state (Illinois) sucks.

I wouldn't trust it. I know for a fact the standards for South Carolina and Florida are incorrect as quoted.

Local law enforcement says that driveride and windshield can be more less than 15% light allowance, and anywhere else in the vehicle may be 0% light allowance... so I wouldn't take that URL as completely true.

Texas is Technically correct, but when I got My truck inspected, the guy that put the meter on said that since the window itself has about 6 to 8% in the glass, when you put 35% film on it, it gives you a lower number. My front doors tested 29% which he said was allowable and passed inspection.

Found this one also. Not sure if it's 100% accurate.

Actually, South Carolina is correct. The law is still on the books as stated on the summary. However, it is no longer enforced due to a problem with objectivity with the testing methods. Two officers would state two different opinions with regards to a given vehicle's window tint.

Probably not. That's when he takes you in the back alley and give you the "Tiny Tim" treatment. "Stop! Please stop Mr. Cop! It burns back there! OMG, my a$$ feels like it's on fiiree! Please!"
