Bed Extender Question

So my truck came with the Factory bed extender installed. Last week I got a bedliner from the dealer. Grey Ford Racing one that matches my truck pretty good. Anyway when I got it home I noticed that they just drilled through the bedliner where the holes are for the lock on the bed extender on both sides...they left the grommets in the bed and the bedliner was covering them up. Needless to say this looked like crap. So I called the dealer and he said this is how they do it and they had to leave the grommets in the holes in the bed or the lock would not be tight. I decided not to argue with him.

I am sure people with spray on bedliners do not have just a hole that the locks stick in? is there a longer grommet available to go through both the bedliner and the bed? I thought about prying them out myself but am not sure if they will work with the thickness of the bedliner.

Anyone have a similar problem?? I am interested to know if they make longer grommets to fit through both the bedliner and the bed. Or can someone give me a part number or something so I can order some??

thanks

I just got a drop in liner today and have the same thing.
This is the way it is. the lock pins go in fine, top and bottom.
I don't see a problem with it.
You could enlarge the hole to show the whole grommet

I bought the bed extender on Ebay.. and installed it myself... I bought all the grommets and brackets and I had cut a hole big enough in my Bed liner to allow for it but the grommet wasn't long enough... so now I have Real big holes cut into the bedliner.. with the grommets under it... But I'm the only one that notices it..

Ctupton Where did you get the grommets?

I was wondering if there were slightly longer ones...they only need to be about 1/2 in longer to work fine. I drilled out the holes bigger and switched them through the bedliner...they seem to work but it is pretty tight on the locking pins with the bed extender...maybe longer grommets would help because I think the pins are hitting the ends of the grommet now. I think it looks 100% better anyway.
