Question w-i-d-e Nerf Bars

I searched through the threads and didn't see any reference to extra wide nerf bars. I am looking for something that will have better parking lot protection from "door swingers".

The running boards and nerf bars that I have seen so far on the F-150's seem as though they don't offer much protection from other vehicle doors.

Any thoughts or recommendations?

TIA

well, they are not designed to protect your doors, they are designed as steps, so it's not surprising. good luck finding what you need.

These are mine, FWIW.

While they aren't supposed to be there to fend off door bangers, I've found that the bars on my '01, which are similar to the pic, saved me numerous times.

Thanks for the pic. Even if they are not designed to ward off the rude, it's nice that occasionally they can have a benifit other than their advertised purpose. That's what I was hoping for.

Give the Westin nerf bars a look. On my 97 F150, they did a fantastic job of protecting the truck, not one ding in seven years!!!

I've got a set on order for my 04 F150, hope they do as well of a job...even though that is not their orginal intent. GL!!!
