Trouble getting key out of ignition

After turning the Truck off, I can't get the key out ! I have to restart the truck and of all things, back it up a little bit, pull forward, turn it off and the key will come out. Irritating to say the least

I have the console shifter and mine has done that a couple time.. just need to push the shifter another quarter inch and it work.. My guess is this could be adjusted out.

Fiddling with the shifter was my first thought too but it didn't work. It just did it to me several minutes ago...'had to back the darn thing up, then forward and out it came...whatever

I did the same thing when I first got it. I have the steering column shifter, and it wasn't completely in Park when I shut off. I was getting pi$$ed. Then I pushed the shifter all the way and the key came out.

your next option would be a hack saw. good thing you found a better solution.

mine does it when the shifter is not all the way in park. it's only happened 2 times in 2 months. i blame myself, not the truck for that one.
