Anybody trade a z-71 for an '04 S-Crew

I currently have a 2002 GMC LT 5.3L Z-71 Ext. Cab will all options and am thinking about trading for a 2004 SCrew 5.4 Lariat 4X4. My impressions are the following:

I have the weight of the SCrew as 5606lbs, the SCab as 5310 and the GMC as 4776. I have not driven the Scab but the GMC seems much peppier than the SCrew but my pickup has 26k miles on it. I would think the Ford would be safer with the new frame and extra weight.

I like running the GMC in AWD mode occ. on slick city streets because it looses traction easily. The Ford seems to get better traction though. I can't use the 4X4 mode on the Ford while on the road can I?

Interior is much better on the Ford.

The audiophile is much better than the GMC stereo. It pays MP3's correct?

I like the looks of the Ford better. It seems taller, I know the top of the bed is much higher.

The SCrew has much more leg room in the back. The GMC seems to have slightly more room than the SCab but its very close.

How much different are they in length and turning radius?
What impressions do you have about how the two compare?

Thanks,

realsmith

I just traded my 2003 Chev Z-71 in for a black on black supercrew. I have been a chevy man all my life. The Ford is terrific. Overall I would say the new Ford is much better overall then Chevy. However, their are a few things I do miss that chevy had that Ford doesn't. One is the autotrac 4wd. It is a nice feature that I'm not sure why ford hasn't incorporated in their vehicles yet. Two is the xm radio. Three is the fuel milage. So far Chevy has it beat by over 2 miles to the gallon. Again, I would still take the ford over the chevy though.

The salesman lied then. Some come with dual media (cass + CD), I'll bet that was what he was confused by. Thanks for the info.

Didn't somebody say you can play .cda files on the audiophile? I think this confuses a lot of people, they think anything they burn on a disk is an .mp3. If you can burn .mp3 files, you can probably burn .cda files too. You just can't fit as many of them on a disk.
